Morenci High School is seeking a creative high school teacher to lead Spanish 1 and Spanish 2 classes in our developing Professional Learning Community for the 2024-2025 school year. A valid Arizona Secondary teaching certificate is required. The ideal candidate will be a highly-qualified and certified Spanish Teacher who is passionate about immersing students in the language and culture of Spanish-speaking countries, and preparing them for studying Spanish at the next level.


We work a 180-day, modified year-round school year (5-day weeks) consisting of four nine-week quarters, each followed by a two-week fall break, a two-week winter break, a two-week spring break, and a six-week summer break.


Beginning salaries start at $51,280 with the potential for up to $8,800 in incentive pay at the end of the school year. The District recognizes up to 10 years of experience for placement on the salary schedule. Benefits include a major medical plan, with the district paying 100% of the premium for single employees and about 67% for families. Housing is provided for teachers through Freeport-McMoRan, the local mining company, for very modest rent. Morenci is a thriving mining community with a family feel.


Morenci High School serves approximately 350 students in grades 9-12. We have been recognized as an A+ school by the Arizona Education Foundation since 2016 and are proud of a tradition of excellence. About 20% of our seniors earn an
Associate’s degree free of cost prior to graduating from high school through a partnership with Eastern Arizona College.
