- Exhibit compliance with The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) and Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) regulations, reimbursement requirements, and SLP responsibilities.
- Complete speech and language screenings/testing.
- Complete assessments of students exclusive of administration and/or interpretation.
- Create and follow treatment plans or protocols.
- Provide appropriate treatment to students who are selected for speech therapy services.
- Document student performance (i.e. tallying data, preparing charts, records or graphs).
- Program and provide instruction in the use of augmentative and alternative communication devices if needed.
- Collaborate and/or share information to students, families, and school staff regarding communication strategies developed.
- Clerical duties, such as preparing materials, and scheduling activities, as needed.
- Advocate for students and families through community awareness and education to promote and facilitate access to full participate in communication.
