Job Summary:  The nurse works in collaboration with other members of the educational and healthcare team to coordinate and provide health services to children to enable them to participate in the educational process. The nurse uses clinical judgment to assess, diagnose, treat and evaluate the student's/significant others/school's response to actual or potential health conditions. The school nurse may delegate and supervise support staff regarding health services. The school nurse is a leader in health promotion and disease prevention and works to maintain a safe school environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Medical Assistant Certificate; LPN/RN preferred
• Experience working with pediatrics is desirable, but not necessary
• Desire and ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff  and parents
• Ability and willingness to follow instructions
• Ability to serve as a positive role model for students
• Demonstrate aptitude for the tasks involved
• Must hold or be able to obtain a current fingerprint card
• Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Other qualifications as determined by the administrator

The position will be a maximum of 8 hours per day. At this time, the job will require assisting students at Morenci Early Learning Center, Metcalf Elementary School, and a portion of Fairbanks Middle School.
